Fastway

How can a customer track their parcels?

Fastway parcels can be tracked on their website at: https://www.fastway.co.za/courier-locator/

Are there any addresses that Fastway can’t deliver to?

Unfortunately, Fastway is unable to deliver to Parcel Lockers & PO Boxes.

Are there any items Fastway doesn't carry?

We’re unable to accept dangerous goods, as per our Conditions of carriage.

What are dangerous goods?

Dangerous goods are goods that are dangerous, flammable, explosive, volatile, offensive or are of a damaging nature in the eyes of the Fastway Courier Franchisee. Usually, dangerous goods have a dangerous good label or diamond on them.

Restrictions also apply to certain types of goods we carry. These goods are specified in our Conditions of carriage.

Are there any other restrictions that may apply to my goods?

Fastway doesn't accept perishable items for transport within our network. However, if you still want Fastway to carry perishable goods then we can do so, but this will be at your risk – no limited liability coverage is included.

Perishable items are goods that are subject to spoilage or decay such as foodstuff or plants.  We don't accept parcels that have a dead weight or cubic weight over 30kg.

To view the full list of restricted goods, please view our Conditions of carriage for more information.

Can I buy labels on account?

Fastway operates on a prepaid label system only. By not offering our services on account helps us to keep our costs down and ensures that our customers get the best courier rates possible.

Can I send a parcel to arrive at a specific time?

Unfortunately, we can't deliver a parcel at a specific time, apologies for any inconvenience.

Can I send internationally?

Fastway prides itself on being a domestic courier specialist. We provide metropolitan, short-haul and national freight distribution in key locations around South Africa. Unfortunately, we don't offer international freight service. Read more about our courier services.

Can I use Fastway labels in any location you operate?

Unfortunately not. Fastway is a franchise system and our label numbers have been allocated to specific locations. For this reason, labels purchased from one location are not transferable between businesses or locations. Pricing may also vary from region to region. Refer to our pricing schedule for further details.

How do I arrange a pick-up?

Regular pick-ups
You can arrange regular pick-ups with your local Fastway Courier Franchisee.  You can find their contact number using the Courier locator.

How do I order labels and satchels?

To order more satchels and labels, you just speak to your local courier. You can find their contact details by using the courier locator. Alternatively, you can order satchels and labels online from your regional Fastway Store.

How should I package my item?

We know how important it is that your parcel arrives safely and undamaged.

1. Choose a good quality box
A double walled box, especially for deliveries that contain fragile items, secured appropriately is best.

2. Choose the right sized box
Boxes that are too small could mean the contents get lost. Boxes that are too large are likely to collapse if another parcel is placed on top of it during delivery.

3. Protect your items
Bubble wrap, packing peanuts, foam, and newspaper can all be used to protect your items.

4. Wrap each item in the box individually
When sending multiple items within one box it’s recommended that each item is wrapped individually. This offers better protection for your items and reduces movement.

5. Seal the parcel with packing tape
Seal all open edges of the parcel with wide parcel tape on both the top and bottom of your package to ensure it doesn’t open during transit.

6. Labelling your parcel
Always use clear, accurate address labels on your parcels.

I'm a high-volume sender. Do I have to use the manual label system?

For customers who have a medium to high freight volume, Fastway is able to offer its own electronic labelling solution, allowing our customers to focus on their core business, and their customers, not just their freight.

eWallet is our custom web-based label printing solution. This application not only has the ability to print delivery address labels but also automatically calculates the appropriate prepaid label required to send the parcel to its destination.

This application can be interfaced directly into most pick and pack/accounting systems, significantly reducing dispatch labour requirements. It can also provide a variety of reports which can assist you in monitoring your freight costs.

For further information about eWallet, click here to complete a contact form and we'll reach out to you.

What's your label refund policy?

Unfortunately, Fastway labels are non-transferable and non-refundable. For further information, please refer to our Conditions of Carriage.

When will the courier pick up my parcels? When will the courier pick up my parcels?

Your courier has a timetable (similar to a bus or train), so will be in your area at a certain time each day. There are two runs each day.

You can find the timetable for your courier by using the courier locator.

Why are your labels prepaid?

Prepaid labels enable customers to make savings on their usual freight costs, as well as providing a simple system free of any extra paperwork or add on charges.

Fastway's services are targeted towards small and medium sized businesses who need predictability of freight costs combined with reliable service. Fastway’s courier services are organised on a cycle basis as opposed to urgent or point to point services and are perfect for customers who need their goods delivered promptly but not urgently.
